As we close our doors for the summer holidays, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on a fabulous year at Gorsey Bank Primary School (GBPS).

From academic achievements to unforgettable experiences, our pupils have truly made the most of every opportunity. Here are just some of the highlights that made our year!

Tom Percival Visit

At the start of the year, Tom Percival came to visit. He is an author of many children’s books such as ‘The River’, ‘Perfectly Norman’ and ‘Ruby’s Worry’.

Chinese New Year

In February, the pupils learned all about Chinese New Year and dressed up accordingly. This year is the year of the Dragon which symbolises strength, courage and good fortune.

World Book Day

In March, pupils, families and teachers had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day. Everyone came in wearing costumes based on their favourite characters and chosen books…and didn’t they look fabulous!

Eid Celebrations

The children were treated to two assemblies led by some of our Muslim children and parents/carers who shared some of their own experiences of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan and the subsequent Eid celebrations.

We also had a fabulous day celebrating Islamic arts and crafts as well as partaking in our own Eid celebration lunch!
